5 October 2026: Japan and Australia sign finance cooperation memoranda; ECB's Lane speaks on monetary policy diagnostics

Finance Minister Katayama Satsuki and Australian Treasurer Jim Chalmers signed a memorandum of cooperation on the Japan-Australia Finance Ministers' Dialogue on 5 October 2026. They then held the first dialogue in Tokyo, exchanging views on macroeconomics and economic security, investment cooperation and international cooperation. 1
