The Bank of Japan decided, by a vote of 7 to 2, to guide the uncollateralized overnight call rate to around 1.25%, up from around 1.0%. The new target applies from the next business day, 24 September.

The FOMC approved its statement by a 12–0 vote. It raised the target range for the federal funds rate by 1/4 percentage point to 3-3/4 to 4 percent, in support of the dual mandate.
